Fascinating Facts About Echidna

Echidnas belong to the group of animals called Monotremes. This is the only group of mammals that lay eggs to reproduce. Females will lay a single egg into their pouch and after 10 days, a baby echidna, called a Puggle will hatch. Puggles are born hairless but after 7 weeks they will start to develop their spines which are composed of keratin.
